After a half-century of sign-making history, I settled on what I believe is still the best choice for the situation. Many things change with time, while quite a number of important methods withstand the test of time. The following is a summary of the rational and logical reasons for sticking with a proven method of success, while all things around ebb and flow with style and technology.
After having tried and rejected the following methods, in the early 2000s, I finally settled on a thoroughly considered, rationally tested, and cost-effective solution.
- Hand-painted on plywood
- Spray-painted through stencils on various substrates
- Sublimation printed on Aluminum
- Screen-printed banners
The established standard for page sizes in the USA, while slightly different from the rest of the world, is based upon multiples of 8.5 x 11 inches.
